Transcarpathia will soon have a new fishery patrol

The elimination of the current regional branches of the State Fishery Agency began back in authumn. Instead of them, new fishery patrol will soon be created. Employees will be hired in open competition, they will indergo relevant training and certification.

"Now the competition for new heads and deputy heads of regional branches of the State Fishery Agency is taking place, reception of documents is already finished. Two persons are contending for the post of the head of the Transcarpathian branch. After passing special verification and approval of the managers, local competitions will be held to hire employees to the new fishery patrol. They will undergo appropriate training, etc., that is the old structure will be completely eliminated," - Pavlo Hvozdenko, the first deputy head of the State Fishery Agency said during a working visit to Transcarpathia

Update of fishery departments is very important for Transcarpathia, - the Deputy Head of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Viktor Mikulin said.  "Nowadays, there is a big corruption component in this industry, some representatives of the fisheries fo not fulfill their functions properly. In the region, there are more than 600 bodies of water, our rivers carry water to western countries. Transcarpathian inspectors are often involved in corruption schemes, not only for fishing but also the extraction of sand and river gravel. And this is a very big problem for Transcarpathia not only because of the flood situation," - the Deputy Governor said. Viktor Mikulin expressed hope that through complete update of the fishery, corruption component in it would be minimized.
