Soon, more than 5 thousand households of Transcarpathia will receive "chain letters" from the "Zakarpathaz" PJSC
The debate about the consumption rates will be stopped by... meter
Soon, more than five thousand households in Transcarpathia, which are not equipped with natural gas meters, will receive "chain letters" from the "Zakarpathaz" PJSC. Customers will realize: they will have to pay more for the blue fuel, moreover, they will have to pay the difference accumulated over the past nine months due to final consumption rates, which all stakeholders will eventually agree on...
As you know, during its term, the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk has twice reduced gas consumption rates for households that are not equipped with meters. First, in September 2014, the following rates were established (per person per month): for houses with gas stove and central hot water - 6 cu. m; for houses with gas stove without centralized hot water supply - 9 cu. m; for houses with gas stove and gas water heating - 18 cu. m. In late April 2015, all the rates were reduced by half - to 3.6 and 9 cubic meters of gas respectively.
The government's "vicious circle" could have been broken only by the court. And it did it. On January 28, 2016, the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine declared illegal the Decree of the Cabinet №237 of April 29, 2015, whereby Arseniy Yatsenyuk's government unilaterally reduced by half the previous rates of natural gas consumption for one person in houses that are not equipped with meters. According to the resolution of the SACU, consumers are required to pay regional and city gas distribution companies for the gas consumed under illegal rates almost the same amount as already paid for the previous nine months.
The gas company "Zakarpathaz" for its part has done everything possible and automatically restructured debts of consumers that arose in connection with the gas consumed but not paid for.
Currently, there is only one conclusion to be made: it is more profitable for customers to use meters and pay only for consumed gas, not relying on the government. We want to put an end to disputes about the gas consumption rates for households without metering devices - install meters.
