The truth about the deportation of Transcarpathian Germans will finally be revealed

Tomorrow, the Regional State Archives will receive unique documents from the archives of the Main Office of the National Police of Transcarpathia.

Those are photocopies of the found cases of indigenous representatives of Transcarpathian German community, who, in March 1946, on the order of the NKVD, were deported to Tyumen region "with no right to return" to their former places of residence in Transcarpathia. The found cases specifically concern members of German families who durst to run away from their places of forced settlement in Siberia to their former homes in different villages of Transcarpathia, for which they were arrested and sentenced to 20 years of hard labor by the bodies the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor's Office of the Transcarpathian region.

The transfer of the documents will be held on March 3, at 10:00, at Rakoczy st., 13 (the building of the Main Office of National Police in Transcarpathian region).
