Streeta named after killed ATO heroes and John Lennonn have appeared in the Transcarpathian outback
The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal signed an order on renaming of pro-communism streets in settlements of the region in furtherance of the Law of Ukraine "On the condemnation of Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of their symbols." Such document signed by the head of the RSA became the first not only in Transcarpathian region, but also in Ukraine in general.
According to the order of H.Moskal, Shchors street in the town of Mizhhirya was renamed into Victor Markus street (soldier of the 128th mountain-infantry brigade, a native of the town of Mizhhirya)
Kolhospna street in Mizhhirya was renamed into Tomas Masaryk street (President of Czechoslovakia during the period when it included Transcarpathia, a sympathizer of Ukrainian
Zhovtneva street in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district was renamed into Edmund Bachinskiy street (social and political activist of Carpathian Ruthenia, a member of the Carpathian Ruthenian government, the mayor of Uzhgorod in 1920s, a native of the village of Kalyny).
Kalinin street in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district was renamed into Kalynova street.
Komsomolska street in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district was renamed into Fedir Koryatovich street (Lithuanian-Podolian Prince, who in the 14th century moved to Transcarpathia and made a huge impact on the political and cultural life of the region).
Lenin street in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district was renamed into John Lennon street (singer and composer, member of the group "The Beatles").
Zhovtneva street in the village of Solotvyno in Tyachiv district was renamed into Simon Hollósy street (outstanding Hungarian painter of the 19th - 20th century, lived in Tyachiv district for a while).
