In Rakhiv district pyrotechnics destroyed 33 pieces of ammunition from World War II

The Rescue Service of Transcarpathia received a letter from the Security Service of Ukraine Office stating that the officers of the Security Service had found an arsenal of ammunition on the outskirts of the village of Yasinya in Rakhiv district.

Experts of the pyrotechnic team of the special purpose emergency and rescue detachment arrived at the scene for identification and destruction of explosive devices. They removed from the ground 32 mortar shells of 82 mm caliber and one mortar shell of 50 mm caliber - all munitions of the Second World War period. Since explosives could not be transported, they were destroyed on the spot.

Rescuers appeal to Transcarpathians! If you find any suspicious metal objects similar to explosive, do not touch them and do not try to defuse the bomb. Instead, mark the place of discovery, report it to the authorities, local government, police or call the Rescue Service 101.
