"Hot" night at the customs post "Tisa", three cars "Mercedes-Benz" were seized
Yesterday, at the checkpoint "Tisa", border guards of the Chop detachment together with employees of the SFS pevented three attempts of illegal transportation of cigarettes across the border.
Thus, in the first case, our compatriot heading to Hungary tried to carry tobacco products hidden in a structural cavity of a minibus bottom. However, border guards had doubts about this vehicle. As a result, during the in-depth inspection of the car "Mercedes", border guards together with representatives of customs office found hidden cigarettes "Marlboro", "Marlboro gold" and "CAMEL BLUE". In total, 200 packs of cigarettes worth about 4,000 UAH were found.
A few hours later, another "Mercedes Sprinter" driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the checkpoint. This time, during the inspection of the vehicle, tobacco products were detected by a specially trained dog. As it turned out, the man hid 3,000 packs of cigarettes "Marlboro" in the side walls of the van.
In the third case, another Ukrainian hid cigarettes in the fuel tank of his car. But his attempt to covertly transport the cigarettes also failed. Law enforcement officers, during the in-depth inspection, found in the fuel tank tobacco products "Marlboro" and "Marlboro gold" in total amount of 410 packs, amounting to 8,200 UAH.
Tobacco products and cars in all cases were seized by customs officers. The total cost of the confiscated property is over one million hryvnia.
