An attempt of cigarette smuggling to Italy was prevented in Transcarpathia

Today, at the customs post "Tisa", officers of the Transcarpathian customs office and border guards found hidden tobacco products in a car "Ford Transit".

A compatriot arrived at the customs post by a vehicle with Ukrainian registration. He was heading in private affairs from Ukraine to Italy.

The citizen chose the "green corridor" for customs clearance.

During the oral questioning, the Ukrainian denied carrying any products in amounts that are subject to written declaration, customs payments and statutory prohibitions or restrictions on carrying across the customs border of Ukraine.

Customs officials decided to conduct a thorough examination of the vehicle.

In the course of the in-depth inspection, inspectors found domestically made tobacco products with excise stamps of Ukraine hidden in recesses. Among the hidden products, there were 135 packs of «Marlboro», 100 packs of «Marlboro» «Gold», 10 packs of «Parliament» «Silver blue», 20 packs of «Winston» «Blue Super slims», 20 packs of «Glamour» «Amber Super slims», 20 packs of «Glamour» «Azure Super slims». The total number of the found cigarettes hidden from customs control was 305 packs.

Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches.

These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

According to the labels on the manufacturer packaging, the cost of the found tobacco products is 5,950 UAH, and the cost of the car "Ford Transit" is 147,459 UAH.

Currently, the report on violation of customs rules has been drawn up, the tobacco products and the vehicle were seized.
