A foreigner on a "VOLKSWAGEN" was detained at the customs post "Dyakovo"
Transcarpathian customs officers found hidden cigarettes in the car "VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT" of a citizen of Hungary. The incident occurred in the customs control area of the checkpoint "Dyakovo".
Moving towards Romania, the foreigner chose the "green corridor" for customs control and verbally declared absence of any goods and objects, hidden from customs control, or those that are banned for export from Ukraine.
However, taking into account possible risks, officers of the checkpoint sent the vehicle to the deck for in-depth inspection, during which they found 850 packs of cigarettes "Rotmans" hidden from customs control under the rear seat and the dashboard.
The driver admitted that the found tobacco products were his property and explaned that he was transporting them to sell in Romania for profit, as at present he is unemployed.
Thus, the Hungarian citizen committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially made caches and other means or methods that hinder identification of such products.
These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the report was made, objects of the offense - tobacco products worth more than 8000 UAH and the vehicle "VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT" worth 1449 EURO - were seized.
