20 packages of cigarettes did not get to Slovakia (PHOTOS)

Border guards of the Chop detachment found 20 packages of tobacco products prepared to be delivered to Slovakia

Last night, border guards of the department "Uzhgorod" of the Chop detachment found tobacco products that offenders attempted to smuggle to Slovakia.

While patrolling the area adjacent to the border, border patrol heard a noise in the bushes and detected movement of unknown persons. Later, during the search activities, 500 meters from the state border, border guards found a car "Volkswagen" and an unknown person, according to himself, a citizen of Ukraine. The unknown man tried to escape from the place of detention. To stop the offender, border quards had to make several warning shots in the air with a device for shooting rubber bullets. During the inspection of the car, they found three packages of cigarettes and 2 more packages nearby.

Later, "green caps" found 15 more packages near the border. Overall, 20 packages of tobacco products were found. Also, border guards detained the vehicle owner, who had come to the scene.

Currently, the packages of tobacco products and the vehicle were seized by representatives of the National Police. The owner of the car was also taken to the city police department. Administrative and procedural documents for violation of border regime and malicious disobedience to lawful order or request of servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine were drawn up aganst the unknown person.
