Cooperation of Ukrainian border guards and their colleagues from neighboring countries as well as the exchange of information allows to effectively counter illegal activities at the state border. As a result of joint coordinated actions, 10 packages of cigarettes were detained at the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
Border guards of the department "Dilove" of the Mukachevo detachment detained two citizens of Ukraine near the border on the bank of the Tisa river. There were 4 packages of tobacco products near the offenders. The border guards immediately informed their colleagues from Romania about the intention of our compatriots to smuggle cigarettes to the neighboring country. On their territory, Romanian border guards found six packages of cigarettes.
Currently, the search for other persons involved in the smuggling of cigarettes into the EU continues on both sides of the border.
