Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained in Uzhgorod one of the organizers of the smuggling of immigrants from the Middle East to the EU, who had been hiding from the police since late 2015.

The offender together with accomplices would meet illegal immigrants in Transcarpathia, accompany immigrants to the border and take them to neighboring countries outside the checkpoints.

Officers of the Security Service detained one member of the group while accompanying a group of illegal immigrants to border crossing point. During the pre-trial investigation, the organizer was identified, but he immediately "went underground".

Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region notified the detainee about being suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court imposed on the organizer pre-trial restraint in the form of detention.
