“Blitz” presents: Ukrainian-Belgian project “Movements in S” (Announcement)

On May 26, the Studio of Contemporary Dance "Blitz" invites to the Art Center "Ilko Gallery." On this day, at 19:00, an art event with the participation of Ukrainian dancer Svitlana Kolesova and Belgian musician Jozef Sercu will be held there. It is a great event for Uzhgorod. After all, the artists will bring a modern European performance, which the local audience is not used to.

What is this show about?

– In the first part we will present a 25-minute performance "Movements in S" to the music of Jozef Sercu that was composed about us, for us, about me and about him. When I first heard the music, I was surprised how well Jozef felt and reflected my inner world, thoughts and experiences – Svitlana Kolesova, a participant of the performance says. – At the same time, I saw his world. For me as a dancer it is hard to describe it in words. It is much easier to express myself in movement, through the body, just like a musician "speaks" through instruments and vocals. And we will do it in our performances.

The performance consists of 6 parts. The audience will see how modern choreography is combined with the author’s music and vocals, and how this symbiosis reveals the aspects of life.

The second part of the event will feature several well-known pieces of music, and with them – the search for connection between three actors: music, words and dance.

The event will take place on May 26 at 19:00 in the exhibition center ILKO.

This is a show for spectators aged 16 years or older. Ticket price is 100 UAH.

About the artists:

Svitlana Kolesova (1987), Master of Choreography, dancer, choreographer, teacher, winner of international competitions. Currently, teaches classical and modern dance in the Studio of Contemporary Dance "Blitz" and takes part in various international dance projects.

Jozef Sercu (1974), Master of Music, specialization – music therapy (Lemmensinstituut, Leuven, Belgium). Teacher of music, dance and drama for bachelors of primary school teacher training program at the Vives college (Bruges and Torhout, Belgium). Works as a freelance musician. Detailed information on his projects is available at www.jozefsercu.be
