Uzhgorod residents can assess the level of transparency of local utility companies

From now on, Uzhgorod residents will have an opportunity to assess the level of transparency of utility companies in the city. This can be done on the site http://www.kprating.info/uzhgorod/. The site also contains information about the other six cities that take part in the project: Ivano-Frankivsk, Lutsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky.

The next step will be a survey of residents of the surveyed cities on the types of information on the activities of utility companies which is important for them. Thus, they will know what in utility companies people are most interested in.

Based on the results, the draft decision of the local government on transparency of utilities will be made. The document will be submitted to the councils of the participating cities and will contain provisions that will be developed based on the results of the monitoring of utilities. Its goal is to neutralize a number of corruption risks that exist today in the activities of municipal enterprises and to establish standards of transparency of their activities.
