Ukrainian fencers won bronze medals of the European Championship! (PHOTOS)

At the European Fencing Championship, which is taking place in the Polish city of Torun, Ukrainian team has won another award. The men’s national team of epee fencers, including Anatoliy Herey from Uzhgorod, won bronze medals! 

On their way towards the third place Ukrainians, confidently defeated Romanians (45:32) and Germans (45:30), and in the semifinals they lost only one stab to Italians – 28:29. 

In the match for bronze medals, Anatoliy Herey, Bogdan Nikishin, Dmytro Karyuchenko and Maxim Khvorost showed the will to win and beat the Swiss team – 45:31!   

Next, our athletes will take part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which will start already on August 5. Individual competition of fencers will take place on August 9, men epee team competitions – on August 14.   

Congratulations to the guys on the bronze medal of the Euro 2016 and good luck at the Olympics!
