Yesterday, border guards prevented three cases of smuggling of 3,655 packs of tobacco products.
At the checkpoint "Luzhanka", border guards found hidden tobacco products in two cars heading from Ukraine to Hungary. The violators were citizens of Hungary. One of the foreigners arrived at the checkpoint by a car "Peugeot", another one – by a car "Volkswagen".
The men tried to move the cigarettes across the border hiding them in structural cavities of the vehicles.
In the first case, they found in the car "Peugeot" cigarettes "Compliment Super Slims 3" in amount of 2,400 packs and "Lifa Super Slims3" in amount of 100 packs. In the "Volkswagen", law enforcement officers found 660 packs of contraband tobacco products.
In the evening of the same day, at the checkpoint "Dyakove," a Hungarian citizen tried to smuggle in Romania 495 packs of cigarettes "Compliment Super Slims". The woman hid tobacco in the fuel tank of her "Volkswagen".
In all three cases, the cigarettes and the cars, which were used as a means of smuggling, were seized according to the law.
