For the purpose of effective implementation of the state regional policy, the Regional Development Agency is being established in Transcarpathia. It is a non-budget non-profit institution which will help local authorities to implement the regional development strategy.
The Agency will act as an office for advising on the preparation and implementation of programs and projects of regional development and in general will facilitate the growth of the investment attractiveness of the region. It is expected that the interaction and cooperation with regional development agencies will have positive effect on both ordinary citizens and local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations.
During the round table meeting in Uzhgorod, regional officials, representatives of associations, businesses and academics discussed the organizational issues of the Agency’s activity, the requirements for founders and others.
As noted, the organization will act independently in accordance with the objectives and rules established by the constituent documents. Modification of political terms, the desire to stop the activities of the organization or to review its status can not be implemented.
This gives the Agency stability, which is very necessary for work in areas such as regional development, where the results will manifest themselves only in the medium term.
During the meeting, the participants decided to establish a working group for consultation, determination of co-sponsors, preparation of the constituent assembly of the Transcarpathian Regional Development Agency and preparation of the constituent documents
