Forest protection units of the SE "Volovets forestry" and experts of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, together with the state fire and rescue unit, conducted a joint exercise in fire suppression. Careless handling of fire and a huge fire in the forest was presented to the media representatives during a demonstration exercise.
According to the exercise script, a fire was spotted during a routine patrolling of the forests in the territory of the Verkhni Vorota forestry. The fire engulfed 0, 5 hectares of the forest. There was a threat of fire spread. Thanks to the joint efforts of the rescuers and workers of Volovets forestry, the fire was eliminated.
Last year, 16 forest fires was recorded.
In 2016, 5 fires have been recorded over the area of 8.4 hectares.
