Yesterday, at the international checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards of the Chop detachment together with customs officers prevented an attempt of tobacco smuggling across the border.
Our compatriot driving a truck "DAF" tried to illegally transport tobacco products across the border. His nervous behavior aroused suspicions, and border guards decided to conduct in-depth inspection of the vehicle. As a result of the joint inspection, border guards found in a top panel of the vehicle 247 packs of cigarettes.
The found cigarettes and the truck were seized according to the law. The total value of all the seized property is over 480,000 UAH, the press service of the State Border Guard Service informs.
