В рамках реализации закона о декоммунизации 22 ужгородские улицы переименуют. Так, в областном центре Закарпатья, в частности, появятся улицы Героев Крут, Карпатской Украины, Ивана Фирцака и Романа Шухевича.
22 Uzhhorod streets will be renamed in the framework of the law on decommunisation. Thus, streets named after the Heroes of Kruty, Carpathian Ukraine, Ivan Franko and Roman Shukhevych will appear in the cetre of Transcarpathian.
A corresponding working group has been organised in the City council. Public hearings have been conducted. It has been analysed and decided which works to rename.
Probably, the most acute discussion concered the renomination of the Lavrishcheva street.
The question of the future of the street names is in the hands of the peoples’ deputies. Deputies will vote for this question at the next session of the Uzhhorod city council on 25 February.
