The Transcarpathia Boxing Championship was held in Mukachevo on January 29-31. Junior boxers were competing in the "Rukavychka" Sports Complex last weekend. This time, juniors born in 2000-2001 and young boxers born in 1998-1999 entered the ring. 30 boxers in twelve weight classes took part in the competition in the older age group. 26 sportsmen in nine categories were competing among the younger.
The main aim of the competition is to select the best sportsmen of the region. They will take part in Ukrainian Championships as members of the national team. The tournaments are to be held in the middle of February.
As it was predicted, the best results were achieved by sportsmen from Mukachevo. They earned eight medals. Sportsmen from Khust achieved four rewards. Two medals of the highest rank will be sent to Uzhhorod, Rakhiv, Berehovo and Irshava. Chop received one golden medal.
The best sportsmen of Transcarpathia will represent the region at the Ukrainian Championship that will be held in Uzhhorod in the end of April.
