Petro Svaliavchyk, a Transcarpathian artist will travel to France
Petro Svaliavchyk , artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine will participate in the international competition of portraits that will be held in France. By the words of the artist, the invitation from the organisers of the event was a pleasant surprise for him.
It is already known that the artistic event will take place in Paris in June. By the way, Claude Monet, the famous French painter was born here. This is going to be a plein air competition. The number of the participants is known too. There will be 100 painters from European countries. Ten winners will receive awards and the Grand Prix.
"I am looking forward to the travel. It is an opportunity to demonstrate the powerful Transcarpathian school of painting, the origins of which come from Adalbert Erdeli. He had lived and studied in Paris for a period. In addition, it is an opportunity to communicate with artists, find out about European tendencies in art", – shares his impressions the Transcarpathian portraitist.
Today, Petro Svaliavchyk teaches at the Transcarpathian Art Institute, he is the head of the Youth association of the Transcarpathian organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He performs portraits, still lives and landscapes.
