The socio-cultural project "All Transcarpathia reads to children", which we have repeatedly written about on our site, this time visited the regional specialized children’s pulmonary sanatorium "Malyatko" in the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district.

The project coordinator, leading Ukrainian author of books for children Galina Malik and special guest – priest, teacher of the Uzhhorod Greek Catholic Theological Academy named after Blessed Theodore Romzha Mykhailo Mykulanynets – talked with kids about the benefits of reading.

Traditionally, the visitor read an excerpt from a book and suggested children to read it themselves.

The book presented to children was titled "Parting gifts for kids from the Carpathian sage Andriy Voron." This and other books for children were presented specifically for the project by known local writer Miroslav Dochynets.

The co-organizers – the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration – added a selection of books by contemporary Ukrainian writers, audiobooks with national folk tales and tasty treats. In addition, publisher Oleksandra Harkusha presented souvenir bookmarks from the project "All Transcarpathia reads to children".

The next month, the organizers plan to celebrate the first anniversary of the project in a festive atmosphere, to share experiences and plans for the future, and, as always, to entertain and give presents to their young readership.
