Only one Transcarpathian majoritarian deputy seems to be interested in working in the Parliament

On Friday, December 2, in the small hall of the Academic Council of UzhNU, there was the announced public discussion devoted to summarizing the annual monitoring of the activities of 105 majoritarian MPs in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, including Transcarpathian majoritarian MPs from six constituencies of the region. However, the meeting could hardly be called a discussion. Because out of the many invitees, only civic activists and one Transcarpathian deputy found time to come to the meeting.

So, to determine the effectiveness and activity of MPs, the OPORA identified several parameters that define the legislative activity of the deputies and their activities in the constituencies.

It should be noted that Transcarpathian deputies do not look well compared to their colleagues. In the overall ranking, which includes 105 names of Ukrainian majoritarian MPs from all regions, Transcarpathian group is second to last before Donetsk. Such low ranking becomes clear after the detailed review presented by the public consultant of the OPORA in Transcarpathian region Svyatoslav Babilya.

Thus, during the "reporting period", Transcarpathian majoritarian MPs submitted for consideration 47 bills and draft resolutions, 28 of which were from Robert Horvat. Transcarpathians took part in votings as follows: R.Horvat - in 96%, V.Baloha - 73%, M.Lanyo - 56%, P.Baloha - 42%, V.Petyovka - 56%, I.Baloha - 55%.

The situation with the participation of the Transcarpathians in the work of the committees (this is where future decisions are discussed) is even more interesting: R.Horvat - 92%, the closest to him V.Petyovka - 44%. As for the speeches in the assembly hall of the Verkhovna Rada, only Robert Horvat spoke before his colleagues this year - 6 times.

Another interesting indicator is reporting to the voters. According to the OPORA, only R.Horvat conducts full reporting to the voters. Another three - Viktor Baloha, Vasyl Petyovka and Ivan Baloha - partially inform about their activities. Mykhailo Lanyo does not have a single office to receive voters.

By the way, in the overall ranking of 105 deputies, Robert Horvat occupied 54th position, the closest to him Viktor Baloha is on the 92nd position.

Considering all the above, it becomes clear why only one MP of the six Transcarpathian deputies decided to come to the meeting.

"I'm upset that this kind of information is overlooked by voters... It does not work before the elections, unfortunately. Over 25 years, Ukrainians have become or have been turned into a convenient electorate that vote for whoever they are told to. I think it's time to change this approach, and I believe that it will happen!" - Robert Horvat summed up.
