At the customs post “Tisa”, a Ukrainian lost his car and 307,000 UAH worth of cigarettes (PHOTOS)

An attempt of cigarette smuggling was prevented by offciers of the Transcarpathian customs together with border guards, at the customs post "Tisa".

A Ukrainian, heading in the private affairs from Ukraine to Austria by a car "Volkswagen", chose the "green corridor" form of customs control. During oral questioning, the citizen denied having any goods, including those subject to declaration, and said that he was not carrying any goods hidden from customs control.

Based on signs of presence of specially manufactured caches in the vehicle, customs officers decided to conduct an in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle. During which, they found in a specially prepared spaces – double bottom of the vehicle interior – 4502 packs of domestically made cigarettes "Winston" and "Parliament" with excise stamps of Ukraine hidden from customs control.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine using specially manufactured caches.

These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The report on violation of customs rules was made, the vehicle and the cigarettes worth 307,658 UAH were seized until the court decision.
