Yesterday the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy supported the bill №2739 and recommended the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt as the Law. This was announced by MP Robert Horvat on his page.
He recalled that this bill should resolve the issue of microwinemaking in the winemaking sector, in particular cancel "draconian" license for wholesale trade of wine for producers who use their own locally grown raw materials.
"There is a keen interest to the bill in the society – one of the developers of the document MP Robert Horvat comments the event to our publication. – Because we are talking about raising our winemaking. What do we have today? For example, a winemaker produces wine of his own grape. He wants to sell, literally, few thousands of liters. To do this, he must acquire a license worth 500,000 UAH. This means 50-70 hryvnia in addition to cost of priduction per each bottle.And this is products become non-competitive on the market! By the way, major wine producers lobbied such license fee in order to make private winemakers to sell them their grapes at convenient prices.
The new law will give a real chance to the private winemakers to produce and sell their own, high-quality products. And it means jobs, it means confidence in the future. Because grapes needs to be planted, cultivated, wine must be made and bottled… It is a long, laborious process. And in order it to be successful, it is necessary to understand its ultimate goal and go for it. Also, very importantly, we get a chance to drive out of the market a significant portion of imported wine. If we talk about the call to support domestic producers, this is the case when it we have a real step in this direction!".
