Uzhgorod nationalists gave items of the Revolution of Dignity to the museum (PHOTOS)
On January 22, 2014 at 11:30 am, on Teatralna Square household and combat items of the Maidan were presented to the public. In memory of the death of the first fighters in the Heaven's Hundred, Uzhgorod residents gathered more than 50 different items that helped to overthrow the criminal regime in Kyiv and Uzhgorod and gave them to the museum.
A year after the first blood shed on Euromaidan in Kyiv, symbolically, in memory of the first victims of the regime, the items were handed over to the Transcarpathian Regional Ethnographic Museum. Uzhgorod City Organization of the "Svoboda" gathered from its members and supporters the items that were used during the Revolution of Dignity.
"Those are about a dozen of shields - makeshift and those left by the police, stretches used to carry wounded and killed during the shooting in February, chin from the monument of Lenin, helmets, clubs and more revolutionary implements. We would like to thank Ivan Oros, the museum employee, where modern history will be exhibited. Because we have to leave memories for future generations and a constant reminder to the power", - the head of Uzhgorod cell of the "Svoboda" Tomas Lelekach says.
The event is timed to the Day of Unity of Ukraine and the anniversary of death of the first heroes in the Heaven's Hundred: Serhiy Nigoyan, Mykhailo Zhyznyevsky, Yuriy Verbitsky.
