Uzhgorod football players and hockey players are arguing about the field

On Thursday, January 29, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Vasyl Hubal once again acted as a "referee" in the sports dispute.

This is a dispute about the land allocated by Uzhgorod City Council session on the "Avangard" stadium in Uzhgorod for the construction of the Ice Palace. However, now it is going to be just a skating rink - the prospects of a serious complex, which was supposed to be built for investment funds, are currently vague. But even such facility is urgently needed - representatives of the ice sports say. Meanwhile, the Football Federation oppose it, they say it will destroy their field, and hockey players say that their sport must develop, the field has been abandoned, the allocation of the land was legal.   All twists and turns of the disputes are rather convoluted, each party focuses on their arguments, there is no constructive dialogue. Since the parties are unable to agree, the regional government helps to resolve the conflict. Together they were looking for a way out of the situation.

One of the options would be to provide an alternative site for hockey.Unfortunately, the city officials still have not found ways to resolve the conflict and to offer a decent alternative instead of the territory of the "Avangard" stadium, as provided by the decision of the City Council.

The position of head of the region is clear: both sports should develop - football has its own history and many supporters in the region, and hockey is gaining popularity and already has notable achievements.
