Last year, on the Independence Day, Transcarpathian Honored Academic Folk Choir presented an unforgettable program on the Uzh embankment at dawn - "Prayer for Ukraine". On the Day of Unity of Ukraine, January 22, the known collective impressed with originality once again... and sang in the waiting room of the train station in Uzhgorod.

The program started with the Anthem of Ukraine. After that, the artistic director and chief conductor of the choir Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk congratulated everyone and called to help raise funds for Transcarpathian soldiers. The musical event brought together many people who greeted each piece with loud applause and tears. Of course! It is not every day that you can see artists in traditional costumes at the station and even with flags of Ukraine. Artists themselves could not hide tears.

At that time, the train Kyiv-Uzhgorod arrived at the station, and the speaker announced: "Dear passengers. Uzhgorod congratulates you on the Day of Unification of Ukraine. We invite you to listen to the Transcarpathian choir."

As for the repertoire, there were both classic songs and contemporary pieces. According to the artistic director and chief conductor of the choir Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk, the station was chosen for a reason - it is the confluence of all roads, people from different cities of Ukraine come here, so what is better place to congratulate on the Day of Unification Ukraine?! Also, it has a beautiful acoustics. "With our performance, we wanted to inspire faith in our heroes, to show that we are with them, proud of them. Especially since a song is a prayer" - Mrs. Petiy-Potapchuk said. Symbolically, the Transcarpathian Chorus is an example of unity, for artists are people of different nationalities. But they all are patriots of Ukraine.
