The first illegal immigrant to be detained in 2015 was a representative of the Caucasus

A citizen of Georgia, who tried to illegally cross into the Slovak Republic, became the first "guest" of the Chop border detachment in the new year.

The information about a man of Caucasian appearance moving toward the border on the outskirts of the regional center was received by border guards of the "Uzhgorod" department in advance. Later, when trying to illegally cross the border, bypassing the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", the unknown man was detained. The man explained that he was a citizen of Georgia, but had no documents on him.

He also said that he wanted to go to Germany in order to find work and a better life, and had planned the illegal route from Ukraine to Slovakia, like most of his fellow detainees, using the Google maps.

In order to establish the circumstances of the offense and to draft administrative and procedural documents, the detainee was taken to the border unit. His further fate will be determined by the court.
