More than 3000 internally displaced persons are registered in Transcarpathia
According to the Regional center on issues related to the social welfare of citizens of Ukraine who migrate from the temporarily occupied territories and areas of the antiterrorist operation, 3164 people have moved to Transcarpathian region. In particular, 1051 people - from Luhansk region, 1860 people - from Donetsk region and 253 people - from the Crimea. The number of IDPs is growing.
According to the Director of Social Welfare Department of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Victor Matsola, they are making appropriate arrangements to ensure the appointment and payment of different types of social benefits to citizens who have migrated from the temporarily occupied territories and areas of the antiterrorist operation.
As of January 1, 2015, 323 families have applied to the social welfare offices of the region for appointment or continuation of various kinds of social benefits, including 21 - from the ARC, and 302 - from Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Also, payments of various types of benefits for 264 citizens have been appointed or continued.
According to Victor Matsola, 42 displaced families have left our region. Also, 5 applicants have been denied in continuation of benefit payments because of failure to provide necessary documents; providing false information.
Thus, as of the beginning of this year, social welfare authorities have registered 1444 families, that is 2595 people who have moved from the temporarily occupied territories and areas of the antiterrorist operation. Of the total number of registered families, 1267 families have applied for appointment of monthly targeted assistance to cover living expenses, including housing and utilities expenses. Of these, such assistance has been appointed for 1224 families, for another 32 families, the procedure of the appointment is underway. Targeted assistance in amount of 2.6 million hryvnias has already been paid to 1117 to families.
