In Uzhgorod, two armed robbers were arrested after a shootout
The shootout occurred around 20:30 on Koloskova street in Storozhnytsia. Locals have reported a few shots. As confirmed by a representative of the regional police department, the shooting happened in a private home. The police unit arrived at the scene, armed criminals used firearms against the police.
Law enforcement officers managed to detain 2 bandits who tried to rob a private home. Perhaps, one or more of their accomplices are trying to escape.
It is known that the house owner, who was attacked by robbers, was hospitalized with injuries.
However, there is no information whether it is a gunshot or traumatic injury.
Despite the injury and audacious attack, the owner of the house, where the shooting occurred, managed to press the alarm button, and the police caught the attackers in the house, where they were detained. None of the law enforcement officers was wounded. One of the 3 attackers managed to escape.
In the Novy neighbourhood and throughout Uzhgorod, numerous mobile police posts have been established, checking cars, mainly "wagons" with Slovak license plates.
Oleg Podebriy, the spokesman for the regional police department reported on his page on facebook: "Two bandits were disabled and wounded in a shootout with the policemen, who had been called by the owner of the house. We already know that one of the attackers is from Kyiv. Gangsters inflicted injury to the homeowner. Among the policemen involved in a shootout, there are no wounded. Details - in the morning."
