In Uzhgorod, a cement thief was caught
A previously convicted resident of Uzhgorod stole ten bags of cement from a new building.
A 32-year-old resident of the city filed a statement to Uzhgorod city police. According to the man, an unknown person stole 10 bags of cement from the storage room of his new building.
The investigative team of the city police arrived at the scene. After inspecting the room, the police officers found ou that the offender had entered inside by breaking a padlock.
Thanks to professional actions of Uzhgorod city police CID officers, this theft was solved in "hot pursuit". It was established that a 38-year-old previously convicted resident of the city was involved in the commission of the crime. The man had been repeatedly detained by the police and even spent several years in jail.
This fact was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigation, and the criminal proceeding was opened under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft), which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to six years. The investigation is ongoing.
