Gas tariffs will rise in the first quarter of 2015
Gas prices for consumers will be revised upwards as early as the first quarter of 2015.
This is stated in the transitional provisions of the Law on State Budget for 2015, published in the newspaper "Holos Ukrainy", the "UNIAN" informs.
As noted, the revision will be carried out by the National Commission for Regulation in Energy and Utilities in order to reduce the deficit of the "Naftogaz Ukraine".
"The National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities in the first quarter of 2015 shall review the prices of natural gas to consumers in order to reduce the deficit of the "NAK "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Public Joint Stock Company and ensure complete financing of benefits and subsidies for the population by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine."
As reported, earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk said that the Cabinet of Ministers intended to accelerate the increase of gas tariffs for households to market levels by making changes to the existing schedule of fourfold increase in energy tariffs until 2017.
According to the government data, in 2014, the deficit of the "Naftogaz Ukraine" was 110 billion hryvnias.
