Foundation of the volunteer movement grows stronger

January 28, at 17:00, in the small hall of Uzhgorod City Council at the initiative of the NGO "Transcarpathian community" and with the assistance of Uzhgorod City Council, there was the first open meeting between representatives of the most active volunteer organizations of Uzhgorod.

The primary purpose of the event was to bring representatives of volunteer movements together for establishment of a dialogue between them and further cooperation in helping combatants, their families and internally displaced persons.

Volunteers, residents of Uzhgorod and representatives of religious communities engaged in helping the ATO participants, their families and IDPs took part in the round table.

For the first time, such debate was attended by all the key volunteer movements and government officials to coordinate further work.

During the discussion, in particular, they raised the problem of transparency of volunteer movement activities, their credibility with the public and their effectiveness. To this end, the NGO "Transcarpathian community" suggested to establish a common information space - the information site where any volunteer can register and distribute relevant information.

The event organizers clearly define the expected results of the initiative. Today, those are: first steps towards establishing communication between volunteer movements and the community that were made during the discussion; presentation of the common online resource for volunteer movements that will significantly improve publicity, coordination, and credibility with the public. The next steps were identified - a series of joint meetings and events, in particular - the recital and exchange of experience with volunteers from other regions.

During the discussion, representatives of the city authorities offered to provide a separate room in the municipality in which the volunteers will be able to work and provide all possible information support for the ATO participants, their families and IDPs.

The initiator of the event is the NGO "Transcarpathian Association of Communities."

All volunteer organizations will be using the platform for their posts.
