Chop pyrotechnics defused a shell of the Second World War period

On Saturday, January 24, at 14:40, the Rescue Service received information about the explosive found in Chop, on Pryozerna Street. The suspicious object was found by a local resident near his household during earthworks - the State Ememrgencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region informed.

Five pyrotechnics of the Emergency and Rescue Special Unit arrived at the scene. The experts removed one mortar shell of 82 mm caliber of the World War II period. At 18:10, the explosive was defused and the surrounding area was examined for the presence of other explosives.
