Chief inspector of the customs post "Tisa" was detained upon receipt of a bribe

Yesterday, January 20, prosecutors of Transcarpathian region, together with officers of the Security Service of Ukraine arrested the chief inspector of the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs Office while he was receiving $ 500 of undue advantage.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office in Transcarpathian region.

As previously established, the chief inspector of the Customs Office took this money for customs clearance of a car "Volkswagen T4" following from Hungary in Ukraine. After committing the said offense, he was caught at the scene of crime by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region.

Currently, the customs official is detained in accordance with Article208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a criminal proceeding has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie obtaining of undue advantage, qualifying signs of which are obtaining of undue advantage by an official for committing actions in the interests of the person giving undue advantage through abuse of office, combined with extortion of undue advantage.

Regional bodies of the SFS officially commented on the information about the arrest of the customs officer while obtaining undue advantage. 

Thus, the communications department of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region reports: 

"Law enforcement officers and internal security department of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region continuously take measures aimed at prevention and detection of corruption offenses among employees of the SFS.

 

Yesterday, January 20, prosecutors of Transcarpathian region, together with officers of Security Service of Ukraine, arrested the chief inspector of the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs Office while he was receiving undue advantage. Official investigation over this fact has been initiated," - the statement says.
