A Transcarpathian jumped into ice-cold river to save a drowning dog

Now animal welfare advocates are looking for the hero to thank him.

The incident occurred on the eve of Christmas on the Latorica River in Mukachevo (Transcarpathian region). A pack of stray dogs has been living on the bank for years, compassionate citizens have been feeding them. Suddenly, one of the dog having walked on the frozen river to the middle of it, fell through the ice.

– Our volunteer Natalia Rusin was a witness of the incident – the organizer of the society for the protection of stray animals "Lucky" Olena Andreasova told the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" in Ukraine. – She was walking along the waterfront with her daughter and her dog. Suddenly, she noticed a drowning dog in the middle of the river.   Natalia saw people on the opposite bank and started screaming, asking for help. At some point, a guy came to the river, quickly threw off his clothes and, without hesitation, jumped into the water. Of course, he was afraid that the dog could bite him, but perhaps saving him was more important. He grabbed the dog by the scruff and pulled him out of the water onto the ice.

The dog was very scared, but quickly shook off and ran into the bush. And the whole pack of stray dogs followed him.

Volunteers do not know the name of the dog savior. So they posted a message in social networks to find and reward the hero who saved a stray dog, risking his own health and life,.
