Will Moscal join the blockade?

The of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal responded to the people's demand to repair the road in a quite original way.

In Vynogradiv district, people took to the streets and blocked the road to draw attention of the authorities. So, the head of the region declared that he himself is willing... to join the blockade.

This is what the press service of the RSA reported.

"On Monday (28.09) about one hundred inhabitants of the village of Dykovo (Vynogradiv district) blocked the road leading to the international checkpoint "Dyakovo" on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. People demand to perform major repair of the pavement that is in terrible condition.

Currently, the head of Vynogradiv district state administration, district police chief and the department of the Security Service of Ukraine are talking with them", - the statement reads.

- The highway "Vylok - Dyakovo" leading to the checkpoint is 21 kilometers lonf and is on the balance sheet of the "Ukravtodor" - the head of the RSA Hennadiy Moskal commented. - Neither regional nor district authorities can repair it, it is an exceptional prerogative of the "Ukravtodor." And this organization has not made repairs here for 12 years. I personally have repeatedly appealed to the management of the "Ukravtodor" with the request to do major repairs, as the terrible condition of the road surface causes damages not only to vehicles, but also to the image of Ukraine, where tourists, businessmen, etc. come from Romania. In response, the "Ukravtodor" wrote the major repair costs 60 million hryvnia, which they do not have. I therefore fully support the stance of local people, in fact - I am asking them to hold a similar protest near the office of "Ukravtodor" in Kyiv, and I am ready to take part in it myself to express the resentment about the ineptness of this department.
