15,920 Transcarpathian fourth-graders and 14,550 seventh-graders are waiting for the books that are to be printed for them soon. This was reported by the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hanna Sopkova. According to her, the same situation is now in other regions of the country too. The official assured that the money for printing new textbooks had been found and the problem would be resolved soon. "Transcarpathian region needs UAH 18.6 million in order to print the required number of textbooks for students in grades 4 and 7. The printing will be financed from state and local budgets 50 to 50. As of now, the funds for printing textbooks has been allocated both in the state and in local budgets", - Hanna Sopkova said.Until new textbooks are printed, the Ministry of Education recommends teachers working in grades 4 and 7 to teach children with the old ones.
