Transcarpathian firefighters have not received funds for the purchase of special equipment since 15 years ago
Over the past 15 years, no funds have been allocated to the regional rescue service for construction and modernization of the fire and rescue service facilities, reconstruction and major repairs, purchase of rescue and special fire equipment, communications, fire and technical rescue equipment.
The logistics of civil defense forces does not meet modern requirements. Over 75% of vehicles, that are used by units of the rescue service of the State Emergencies Service in the region, have been operated for over 20 years. The available modern types of equipment and rapid response vehicles cover just 7% of the demand, and individual equipment and means of protection - 20%.
Today, there are 18 units of local fire protection in the region (of the planned 30) with fire trucks whose service life is almost depleted. Fire trucks are equipped with fire-technical equipment by 60%, fire hoses - by 30% of their regulatory requirements.
