Oleksandr worked as a laborer at the "Univer" factory in his native village of Fanchykovo. When he received a call, he did not go into hiding, and immediately agreed to do his civic duty and went to defend Ukraine.
Yuriy Maryan, Fanchykovo village head:
- To date, there are about 10 our fellow villagers in the ATO area, but for all the duration of the the anti-terrorist operation, about 40 people from the territory of Fanchykovo village council have been there. Unfortunately, this is the third victim. We have already buried Boris Sereda (the village of Trosnyk), Roman Sovlych (Fanchykovo) and now - mobilized Oleksandr Levrints. Since January 25, we all have been in suspense, and there was some hope that he was missing or in captivity, but alive. Unfortunately, DNA analysis confirmed that he was killed, it is a 99.96% match. I took his mother to Uzhgorod, to the MIA office for DNA tests, it took about three months. There was a possible match, but it was necessary to do another test. Since the brother of the Hero had been working abroad, he took the tests as soon as he came back to the village. We sent him to Kyiv, and yesterday the final confirmation came. Tomorrow, September 12, I am leaving Dnipropetrovsk to take the body. I have a notarized power of attorney from his mother. On Monday, we will leave back. On September 15, we will be in Fanchykovo, and on Wednesday, we will bury our hero with full honors.
