The State Agency of Fisheries initiates the introduction of fees for amateur fishing.
This was said on the radio "Vesti" by the head of the agency Yarema Kovaliv, the press-service of the agency reported.
"Fishermen, including amateurs, must pay for fishing. These funds must be used exclusively to the stocking of reservoirs. Fishermen must understand this" - he said.
Kovaliv said that this practice is applied in most European countries.
"Currently, the State Agency of Fisheries is working on the mechanism of payment and the cost of such services. In any case, the fee will be minimal and will correspond to the social and economic capabilities of citizens of Ukraine, and the mechanism will be transparent and understandable to society," - the statement reads.
Kovaliv also announced its intention to zone reservoirs to separate industrial and amateur fishing. According to him, such an experiment is already being conducted in Kaniv reservoir.
