70 years ago, the Chop Customs Office was established. It was established under the order №241 of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics dd. September 8, 1945.

- The customs office in Transcarpathian region has had various official names, but it has always been at the forefront of customs business, its best traditions will be carried on. I congratulate all veterans of customs business, all customs officers working currently.I wish them good health and professional success - Mykola Yasevych, the Acting Head of the Transcarpathian customs office congratulates customs officers.

Some facts from the history: on August 8, 1945, Chop Customs Office was headed by DI Tyelyezhkin. He and six other persons were enrolled to the customs office staff, and on November 22, 1945 at 10 o'clock, they started performing their duties at the railway station of Chop.

At that time, and those were the first post-war years, the work of the customs was aimed at restoring the economy from ruin. The priority tasks assigned to the employees were preservation and strict accounting of goods and ensuring the legality of importation.
