The bridge over the Tisa between Ukraine and Romania has been designed
The bridge and a checkpoint will connect two settlements: the village of Bila Tserkva in Rakhiv district on the Ukrainian side, and the city of Siget in Maramures county - on the Romanian side.
The funds for the construction will be provided by the European Union, Ukraine will only have to arrange for infrastructure and access road on its side. To start the work, the two governments should sign a special agreement, it will be discussed with the Prime Minister of Ukraine in the near future.
- The settlements on both banks of the Tisa are populated by both Ukrainians and Romanians, so the new bridge will improve their family and cultural ties, - H. Moskal said. - Also, the opening of the checkpoint will significantly revive economic and investment activities in the border areas of both countries.
The bridge has been designed, its length is 240 meters, and the supports will be built on the banks, rather in the waters of the Tisa.
