Slovak Ambassador: "Reverse gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine will increase"

The meeting of the regional officials with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine Juraj Sivacek took place in the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

The foreign diplomat stressed that his country fully supports Ukraine in the field of economy and energy. Thus, the reverse supply of gas from Slovakia will increase - this has already been agreed by the prime ministers of the both countries. Regarding Transcarpathia, Slovak investors are willing to invest in the waste recycling sector and energy-saving technologies. Several projects are now in the process of implementation. According to Sivacek, the cooperation of security forces of the two countries in combating the smuggling of tobacco products gives much better results.

Hennadiy Moskal, in turn, asked for support of Slovakia in inclusion of Transcarpathia to the European Territorial Cooperation Programme.

J.Sivacek promised his assistance to Transcarpathia in this matter.

The meeting held in the Column Hall of the RSA was also attended by the Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Burianova, the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Velyky Berezny Oleg Adamchuk, the Co-Chairman of the Ukrainian-Slovak Business Council, the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine Otto Kovchar and the Director of the Regional Branch of the National Institute for Strategic Studies in Uzhgorod Svitlana Mytryayeva.
