Our workers instead of Romanian ones. Moskal decided to send Transcarpathian to work in the neighboring country
The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration report on achieved arrangements regarding the employment of Transcarpathians in the neighboring country instead of their workers, who went to Europe.
Hennadiy Moskal made a working visit to the Romanian city of Baia Mare (the administrative center of the Maramures county bordering with Ukraine) at the invitation of the county prefect Anton Rogian. The main purpose of the trip was to discuss the prospects for economic and cultural cooperation between Transcarpathia and Maramures. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Baia Mare Katalin Kerekes, - the press service of the RSA reported.
They say the following.
According to representatives of Romania, their country is experiencing shortages of workers in light industry, wood industry and construction, as local specialists leave en mass to work in other EU countries.
And Ukraine could fill in this deficit, especially Transcarpathia and Bukovina densely populated by Romanian minority.
During the talks, both perties stressed that more attention should be paid to major international projects such as, for example, the construction of the bridge between Sigetu (Maramures) and Bila Tserkva (Transcarpathia) that can revive the economy of both border regions.
- We must conclude interregional cooperation agreements ourselves, rather than waiting for the signal from the capitals - H. Moskal said. - And then the capitals will have to catch up with us.
The first example in this respect was the agreement on cultural cooperation between Maramures and Transcarpathia signed by Anton Rogian, Katalin Kerekes and Hennadiy Moskal. The signing ceremony took place in a special room at the top of the famous architectural monument of Baia Mare - Stephen's Tower.
