High-profile confiscation at the Transcarpathian customs office - a stolen "AUDI A6" which is in the Interpol wanted list
Yesterday, on September 23, at the customs post "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian customs office, customs officers seized from a foreigner a car "AUDI A6".
The vehicle was driven by a Slovak citizen. To pass the customs control, he drove to the "green corridor". Customs officers decided to take the car to the "red corridor" lane.
During the customs control, they suspected that the identification number of the vehicle body had been changed as the vehicle onboard computer gave a different VIN-code. Thus, on the basis of Art. 327 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, an expert was brought for the customs inspection of the vehicle. During the customs inspection of the vehicle with his participation, it was found out that the original number on the vehicle body had been cut down, and another one had been applied in its place.
During the inspection, the customs office received a letter from the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau in Transcarpathian region, according to which it was established that the vehicle was stolen.
Thus, the Slovak citizen moved through the customs border of Ukraine a car "AUDI A6 ALLROAD" concealed from customs control by presenting customs authorities documents containing false information about the designation of the vehicle body.
These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report on violation of customs rules, the car worth almost UAH 1 million 186 thousand was confiscated.
