Europe recognized Transcarpathia as a partner

Yesterday, September 25, at the general meeting of Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region (Hungary), the deputies unanimously approved the decision on the establishment of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) with the Transcarpathian Regional Council. The establishment of such grouping was agreed upon by the Transcarpathian Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the Chairman of the general meeting of Szabolcs-Satmar-Bereg region Oscar Shestak. The Cooperation Centre will allow to develop dynamic relationships between the regions, to coordinate positions on cooperation in the context of new European projects, especially attracting grants to infrastructure and Transcarpathia, tourism, environmental protection, cultural heritage preservation, etc., the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional Council informed.

"This is the first such project of this kind in Ukraine. The establishment of it was agreed by European partners. And we must make it successful. The next step is to be taken by the Regional Council. At the meeting, we also have to approve the decision on the establishment of the grouping. I am sure that it will have the same support as from our partners in in Nyíregyháza", - Volodymyr Chubirko said.
