Bears at the Transcarpathian "resort" will not lose weight - there is enough food for the winter

Bears, that are resting at the "resort" in Synevyr, are not going to suffer from hunger!

This was reported by the National Park "Synevyr", where the largest in Europe Rehabilitation center for brown bears is situated.

Journalists have repeatedly emphasized the problem, which had been brewing in the Center - the Center would not receive funding from Kyiv, so they had to find funds to buy food for the animals themselves.

And now the reserve reported, the matter has been settled. Bears in the National Park "Synevyr" are eating well and preparing for the winter. They say: with the onset of the first autumn days, the ration for brown bears in the rehabilitation center of the National Park "Synever" has increased.   Starting September 1, the rehabilitation center animals receive 25 percent more food: bread, flour, carrots, apples, pumpkins and more.

"The state is regularly allocating funds for food, there are no delays in financing, - the head of the Rehabilitation Center Yaroslav Bundzyak says. - We feed them according to all the rules, as every bear has now to gain additional 50 percent of body weight compared to the spring weight. Some gain 15-20-cm layer of fat. The stock of fat under the skin supports a bear for several winter months while it sleeps - that is, in a state of anabiosis."
