Young talents of Transcarpathia congratulated the state on the new holiday
Uzhgorod students celebrated Ukraine's Day of Defender with a festive concert on Teatralna Square. Soloists and groups of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts performed with music, song and dance acts.
Military commissar of Uzhgorod Mykola Zhuravlev and the head of the Culture Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yuriy Hleba opened the holiday. They stressed on the importance of establishing and celebration of such holiday and deep symbolism of celebration of Ukraine's Day of Defender on the 14th of October - the Virgin of Mercy holiday.
Yuriy Hleba also thanked the teaching staff and students of the college for preparation of the concert, which was not locked in four walls but was presented for townspeople and visitors of the regional center in a relaxed atmosphere. In turn, the director of the college Natalia Shetelya said that during the year, the college students had held dozens of similar events on military theme aimed at raising the spirit of patriotism throughout the reigon. In particular, a number of compositions dedicated to Cossack glory have become a creative "trademark" of young artists which was particularly relevant at this concert, given the another holiday is celebrated on October 14 - Day of Ukrainian Cossacks.
